Don’t give up.
There is still a path.
MeRT is the only and leading technology that works directly on the brain for mental health.
Does any of this sound familiar?
These are the experiences most often shared by people who come to BTC Korea with the same questions you may have.
-
01
Have you tried many treatments
but seen little change?Medication, behavioral therapy, speech therapy — when you’ve tried every option available but the change you hoped for hasn’t arrived, a new perspective may be what’s needed.
-
02
Do you want to keep believing
in your child’s potential?Every child’s brainwaves are different. We can identify those differences through diagnosis and design treatment around them.
-
03
Ready to experience
real change this time?MeRT measures one patient’s brainwaves and uses tailored magnetic stimulation to support recovery. Whatever treatment you are currently receiving, or if you are just beginning — the program adapts to your situation.
Three foundations behind BTC Korea.
To deliver treatment shaped to each patient’s brainwaves, we bring internationally validated technology and clinical protocols directly to Korea.
-
FDA-Approved Equipment
The devices used for MeRT treatment are medical devices cleared by the U.S. FDA, operated off-label at the clinician’s discretion.
-
Brain Treatment Center Korea
BTC Korea applies the same diagnostic, analytic, and treatment protocols as the U.S. Brain Treatment Center headquarters. The underlying technology is MeRT magnetic stimulation from Wave Neuroscience.
-
Used in U.S. Military & Veterans Programs
The same technology base has been adopted by U.S. military medical programs — including the Air Force (MacDill AFB) and Special Operations Forces (SOF) — to support PTSD and traumatic brain injury recovery in active-duty and veteran personnel.
BTC Korea is focused on bringing validated technology to Korea to offer patients a new option. Instead of grand promises, we design recovery together — guided by diagnosis and data.
Recovery begins in four steps.
We listen to the patient’s brainwaves first, then design treatment around them. Even patients with the same diagnosis receive different plans.
-
qEEG Brainwave Diagnosis
With eyes closed and in a relaxed state, we measure quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG) and electrocardiography (EKG). This is the starting point — identifying with data which areas of the brain are having difficulty communicating.
-
Personalized Treatment Plan
The measured data is interpreted through a neurophysiological analysis protocol, and the stimulation site, intensity, and frequency are designed to fit the patient. Every plan is reviewed by clinical specialists.
-
MeRT Session
The patient sits comfortably while a magnetic coil is positioned on the head and stimulation begins. It is non-invasive and pain-free, and can be used alongside existing pharmacological treatment. Many patients read or listen to music during the session.
-
Progress Measurement & Adjustment
Every 10 sessions, qEEG and EKG are re-measured to objectively confirm changes in brainwaves, and the protocol is re-adjusted to the current brain state as needed.
A typical program runs five weekdays a week for 4 to 6 weeks. The detailed schedule is adjusted based on the diagnostic results.
People’s stories speak louder than numbers.
The same diagnosis carries a different weight for each person. These are honest experiences from patients and family members who have come through BTC.
-
Autism Spectrum · Parent
“We tried every treatment we could find without seeing change. MeRT changed our family.”
To help our daughter we tried medication, speech therapy, and behavioral therapy, but nothing helped enough. After finding BTC and starting MeRT, the change we had been waiting for began to appear, little by little.
-
PTSD · Patient
“For the first time, I could understand what was happening in my brain.”
I was afraid because I didn’t know what was wrong or how to fix it. BTC showed me the changes in my brainwaves and helped me recover those functions. For me, it was an experience that let me believe in the possibility of recovery again.
-
Depression · Patient
“After a month of treatment, I made it through a day without medication for the first time.”
Even surrounded by people I loved, I felt alone. BTC helped me understand what was happening inside my head, and after a month of treatment, I was able to get through a day without medication for the first time.
May help with the following.
Each card opens a detailed description. Even if your condition isn’t listed, a pre-consultation can help explore whether MeRT may apply.
Autism Spectrum
Tailored stimulation matched to brainwaves can support recovery for children and adolescents with communication and behavioral challenges.
ADHD
Diagnose activity patterns in brain regions linked to attention and impulse control, then approach with a personalized protocol.
Depression
Can be considered as a complementary approach to enhance the effect of medication or be administered in parallel with existing pharmacological treatment.
Anxiety Detail page coming soon
Measure and analyze brainwaves associated with hyperarousal states, and design an individualized treatment plan.
Insomnia
Aim for stabilization of brainwaves related to the sleep-wake rhythm, pursuing an approach that complements existing treatments.
PTSD
Confirm post-traumatic changes in brainwave activity with data, then apply recovery-oriented stimulation protocols in stages.
Covered by the press. Validated in practice.

The most-asked questions about treatment.
-
A typical program runs five weekdays per week over 4 to 6 weeks (about 20–30 sessions in total). The duration may be adjusted based on the patient’s qEEG results and progress between sessions. A precise individual recommendation is provided after diagnosis.
-
MeRT is non-invasive and is a complementary approach that can be used alongside existing pharmacological treatment. Most patients feel no pain during sessions; some may report a mild tapping sensation on the scalp or a temporary headache. There are some contraindications (such as in-body metal implants), so pre-consultation is required.
-
The cost depends on diagnostic results and the recommended number of sessions. Precise guidance is given at the pre-consultation in terms of diagnosis and program units, and we also discuss installment plans and other ways to reduce the patient’s burden.
-
MeRT is currently a non-reimbursed treatment not included in Korea’s National Health Insurance. For private indemnity insurance, coverage can vary by item — we recommend checking your policy or asking at the consultation.
-
Treatment may not be possible for those with certain contraindications, such as in-body metal implants, pacemakers, or a history of seizures (epilepsy). Eligibility is determined through consultation and screening with the medical team. For detailed contraindications, see here.
